Challah
  • Challah

Challah is a simple and traditional Jewish enriched bread served at both religious and non-religious occasions, and can best be identified by the iconic braid that forms the loaves.

While similar to the French brioche in preparation, challah uses eggs and oil instead of eggs and butter. This distinction allows it to fall under the label of "pareve" foods containing neither meat nor dairy.
